Variac controlled 0 to 20 VDC, 11000 Amps DC rectifier, P/N 5294C

Product Overview

This 0 to 20 VDC, 11000 Amps variac controlled DC rectifier is built with two 5500 amp rectifiers in parallel. Each rectifier consists of a 125 KVA transformer and a six diode water cooled bridge assembly. The entire unit is housed inside a 72"H x 65"W x 50"D enclosure. The variac controller is on the input side to give 0 to 20 VDC capability. The photo of the enclosure is shown below:

The system overview of the 0 to 20 VDC, 11000 Amps DC rectifier, part number 5294C is shown below. Customer to provide ionized water to cool the two rectifier assemblies.

The photo shows a two diode water cooled assembly. Six assemblies are used to make two six diode bridge assemblies. All of the positive will be connected to a common 11000 amps bus bar. All of the negative will be connected to a common 11000 amps bus bar.

The two 125 KVA transformers will be placed horizontally for ease of making connections to the water cooled assemblies as shown below. Three 4" x 3/4" copper bus bars will be used to connect between T1 and WC1. Three 4" x 3/4" copper bus bars will be used to connect between T2 and WC2.

When 120 VAC is applied to terminals 1 and 2, three phase power is applied to the unit. The system consists of a 10 turn manual potentiometer will provide an adjustment range of 0 to 20 VDC. The output voltage and output current are displayed on the analog voltmeter and analog ammeter. A digital voltmeter is added for fine tuning the output voltage. The output voltage and current are sent to the PLC. The positive and negative bus bars are available outside the enclosure for 0 to 20 VDC, 11000 amps connections.
